Order With Flavor allows you to set preparation times to ensure online orders don’t create any additional overhead. To set Order Prep Times, navigate to the the Order Fulfillment tab within the dashboard and scroll down to Order Prep Time. There are a few settings you can configure; here’s what each of them mean:
- Average Time - Set the average preparation time for an order. This ensures that orders can be fulfilled before the store closes for the day for example.
- Additional Delivery Prep Time - Add time to account for bagging and packaging the meal for delivery.
- Hide ETA - Toggle whether or not to show the order ETA when customers choose ASAP when scheduling a pickup.

💡 Note: An ETA is only shown when Scheduled Ordering is enabled and the customer is selecting ASAP for their pickup time

Order Prep Time Behavior
At checkout, the customer will see an ETA based on the order prep time when selecting ASAP as a pickup time (in the example below Average Time is set to 20 mins):

When Hide ETA is enabled, the approximate ETA is hidden from view:

Configuring Prep Times for Items
Order With Flavor allows you to also set specific lead times for an individual item or for all items within a category. To do this, navigate to the Catalog tab within the dashboard. Open Item Settings for a given item by clicking on the vertical ellipsis (⋮) and clicking Item Settings. Check the Require minimum lead time box. Once checked, you’ll be able to set a minimum lead time before an event occurs (store opens, store closes, pickup time). Here’s what each of the events refer to:
- Before opening - Disallow orders from being placed if the pickup time for that item is within N hours/minutes before opening. Example: An order for a box of donuts must be placed at least 8 hours before opening to ensure that they can be made ahead of time.
- Before closing - Disallow orders from being placed if the pickup time for that item is within N hours/minutes before closing. Example: An order for a complex dish must be placed at least 2 hours before closing to ensure that there’s enough time to make, serve and eat the dish.
- Before pickup - Disallow orders from being placed if the pickup time for that item is within N hours/minutes from now. Example: On average the order prep time for an item is 10 minutes but for this item in particular it’s 60 minutes. In most cases you can accept orders as long as you have more than 10 minutes to prep but for this item you want to ensure that an order can’t be placed without at least an hour’s notice.
